It takes only a minute or two to insert the paper-thin needles into each ear.  The insertion is not painful.  Clients then sit silently for thirty minutes, and usually listen to soothing music.  The lights are dim. Most clients close their eyes.

Teresa Marvin was certified by National Acupuncture Detoxification Association.  This protocol is five points technique: (1) The Sympathetic Point which calms the nervous system and helps with overall relaxation; (2) the Shen Men or "spirit gate," which reduces anxiety and nervousness; (3) the Kidney Point, for calming fears and healing internal organs; (4) the Liver Point for detoxification, blood purification, and to quell aggression; and (5) the Lung Point, which promotes aeration and helps clients let go of grief.

The efficacy of the protocol is well documented and the benefits of utilizing NADA include: increased retention in drug treatment programs; a more optimistic attitude regarding treatment from the patient; less episodes of sleep disturbance; a decrease in anxiety; and a decreased dependence on pharmaceuticals. Of course, NADA is not the only facet of treatment in cases of addiction, but it can be a hugely beneficial one. Through its years of use, NADA has been proven effective in treating addictions of all kinds (hard drugs, in addition to cigarettes, alcohol, food, etc.) and can also be used in cases of psycho emotional trauma (post natural disaster, PTSD, depression, ADHD, etc.).

Call Teresa if you are interested in learning more about the treatment.  The cost is $25.

Hi,
Thank you for visiting our site.  I received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University, where I received a Bachelor in Social Work.  I have worked for 20 years for agencies serving children and families.  I opened this private practice in 2014.
I continued to gain valuable lessons from the adults and children I partnered with. I specialize in work with anxiety and depression, family therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and early childhood behavior issues.  I also am a certified auricular acupuncturist.  That is ear acupuncture in a five point protocol for relief of symptoms of PTSD, depression, addictions, and anxiety.
As your counselor, you honor me by sharing your life and growth with me. I will not hide myself behind silence or position and will have high regard for you as a person. I will bring the best that I know from my study and experience. I will bring you the highest of my insight, and wisdom. I will keep a holistic perspective in our work together because I believe that the Physical, Spiritual, and Soul (mind, will, emotions) all work together to form the wholly healthy person.
I will keep our work confidential between you and me.  I do have clinical supervisor and sometime, I will ask for case consultation.  You can expect truth from me even when you may not want to hear it and I am willing to hear the truth from you.  I will always have compassion and empathy for you in all that we do. I value you as a person in need of care. I will do my best to honor your innate ability to reach your best life.
